Kennedy Ohene Agyepong is married to Stella Wilson-Agyepong. They are involved in the KenCity Group of Companies, which comprises of 13 companies stretching from media, cold stores to real estate. The Group is also an umbrella for KenCity Media (former Oman FM Limited), which owns Net 2 Television station, Oman FM, Ash FM and Spice FM. Kennedy Agyepong is the CEO of KenCity Media, his wife Stella operates as the company’s owner according to the National Communication Authority. There is however no company profile at Registrar General on Oman FM Limited or Kencity Media.
Mr Kennedy Agyepong is politician, businessman, and a philanthropist. He became a self-made millionaire at a fairly young age with his businesses in real estate, cold store and media. He owns the Hollywood Shopping Center, the Supercare Group of Companies, has shares in Assin Farms and Several other investments. Agyepong is also a New Partiotic Party (NPP ) Member of Parliament for Assin Central from 2000 to present and perceived to be a major financier of the New Partiotic Party (NPP).
He has been covered several times by the news for taking a clear position against corruption. His words and speeches brought up a number of controversies, leading to his arrest for his claims to declare war during the 2012 election year over alleged police inaction in the face of political violence over the biometric exercise. As a philanthropist, he facilitated educational programmes, built schools and markets amongst others. Kennedy Agyapong set to the Global Dignity Award from the UN. The award is in recognition of his humanitarian works. The award is set to be presented to him in New York on August 4, 2017 at the headquarters of the United Nations (UN).
Mrs Stella Wilson-Agyapong is the registered owner of Oman FM Limited (Kencity Media) which manages Oman FM and Net 2 TV, according to the National Communications Authority. She was a Council Member of the Ghana Independent Broadcasters Association (GIBA) from 2010 to 2012. She was nominated as Media Entrepreneur of the Year, for an award for the media entrepreneurs who have demonstrated exceptional media entrepreneurship skills in 2013. Mrs Stella Wilson-Agyapong is the owner of Mina D'Oro Ventures and Messrs Imperial World Business limited and all subsidiaries of KenCity Group of Companies.
